The Presentation View Larger Image Print an Order Form    Artist’s Notes This new serigraph is based on a painting from 1988 (size 7" x 21").  It continues the series started with the triptych in 1985. Mary and Joseph take the child Jesus to the temple with the offering of two doves.  This was the offering of the poorest.  It was a symbol of thanksgiving for their firstborn.  At the entrance they meet Simeon and Anna who are both old and waiting and praying in the temple.  They both approach the family and honor the new born Jesus. In this scene are the gates, courtyard, steps, temple entrance, and the dome.  It is night--people are carrying their offerings of candles and doves.  The walls have intricate carvings of narrative scenes.  Angels open and guide the pathways and entrances. In each of the towers, windows are lite to show the scholoars working, reading, and copying the scrolls.  Mary and Joseph stand amazed at the two elders Anna and Simeon as they take the baby in ther arms.  The city with its turrets and towers is in the background of the temple and over the city is the star filled sky.     Image Documentation  An original, hand-printed serigraph published by the artist with collaboration of Aurora Serigraphic Studio, Van Nuys, CA.  Project bagan: May, 2004 Estimated Completion: Early November 2004.
