In the Studio with   John August Swanson:   ENTRY INTO THE CITY   (Now Available as a limited-edition, fine art print)   Based on one of his largest paintings, ENTRY INTO THE CITY, 1990, owned by Notre Dame University, Indiana, and featured in Life Magazine’s December, 1994 issue, “Solving the Mystery of Jesus…”, John August Swanson is revisiting his Palm Sunday entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.   Thousands march, watch, wave banners, and hold their palm branches in hope. They focus their attention on Jesus. The people lay their cloaks and rugs before Him. With love and dignity, He rides a donkey through the crowds, as the sky shines with a golden glow, while storm clouds look down with anger, foreshadowing, The Passion. This new three-foot by four-foot multi-media re-imagining of the 1990 acrylic features additional figures and details, and brighter, more vibrant, color.
